Since 1978 South West Surveys has specialised in supplying highly experienced personnel to the offshore energy and telecommunication industries worldwide, primarily as Client Representatives and marine project managers.

The business was expanded in early 2007 becoming South West Surveys (UK) Ltd under the new directorship of Robert Nock and Damian Francis. Rob is a hydrographic surveyor and Damian a marine geologist offering additional areas of expertise such as technical support, project management, geophysics, cable route engineering and desk studies. Mick Slater is now in the ‘hot seat’ as Operations Coordinator, managing day-to-day logistics.

Rob Nock is a qualified Hydrographic Surveyor with over 15 years experience in the offshore energy and submarine telecommunication industries. Following work for Racal Survey, Robs experience as a Client Representative / Project manager includes international projects for the following clients: Shell, BP, Norsk Hydro, Marathon Oil, Dolphin Energy, Alcatel, Singapore Telecom, Skanska and 360networks Inc.   He is highly experienced in offshore survey, subsea construction and submarine cable engineering.
Damian Francis is a qualified Geologist with over 15 years experience in the offshore energy and submarine telecommunication industries. Damian has worked as a Client Representative since 1998 with clients such as Alcatel, C&W, FLAG, Global, Worldcom, Dolphin Energy, BBL and Maersk. He has extensive experience as a cable route engineer having designed numerous systems worldwide.
Mick Slater is a Hydrographic Surveyor who has recently left the Royal Naval Hydrographic Service and is now Operations Coordinator at SWS. He has managed personnel and logistics for survey projects around the world for the last 33 years.
