All representatives & consultants working for South West Surveys have undertaken combined survival and fire-fighting courses, at one of the recognised training establishments, regularly updated in accordance with UKOOA guidelines. Several have complete the MOSS requirement for Shell/BP

As part of our programme of Continuing Professional Development, the majority of personnel have attended one or more quality control training courses provided by Clients and/or Contractors. SWS personnel are conversant with the operation of the Grid / GeoMatrix QC package, coupled with the use of Excel systems spreadsheets and Microsoft Word. Certain personnel have completed Q.P.S. QC and offshore processing training courses in Holland and have practical offshore experience with the HSD Link / Seismic / Engineering / DGPS systems.

Both directors and the majority of hydrographic consultants, sub-contracted to work with South West Surveys have attended quality management courses, quality procedures and auditing courses.

South West Surveys operates a Quality Assurance System designed to meet the requirements of ISO 9000 (European EN and British BS equivalents). This system is a management system geared to providing QUALITY throughout the range of services provided by the company. It also provides our staff and sub-contractors with a sound grounding and understanding of Quality Systems thereby allowing them to appraise systems operated by other organisations.

In date offshore medicals based on UKOOA and / or Netherlands / Norwegian guidelines are either already held, or may be obtained, by all survey personnel.

South West Surveys presently holds Employer's and Public Liability Insurance for £10 million, with cover of £2 million for each occurrence and Travel & Accident Insurance.
